PostSubject: Coming back home   Sat Apr 30, 2011 9:27 am

Shinji had almost fallen asleep when the sound of bells made him stand on guard. It was nothing to worry about though. His ship had just docked and it seemed that it was in a hurry as the passengers were climbing it quickly. The ninja dashed from his place and with a swift speed arrived at the ticket check. There they accepted his ticket and he boarded the small ship spotting a perfect place to lay down and relax – on top of some cargo boxes.

Before he could lay down an old woman approached him and begged him to help her pull her heavy baggage. The ship was about to leave also leaving the old woman’s baggage down where the ticket check was. Shinji had nothing better to do and why would he be mean to an old helpless woman ? He jumped off deck as quickly as possible and picked the luggage only to notice that the ship had sailed off. The chuunin did not hesitate and jumped on the water using his chakra to stay on top. He rushed behind it and with one swift jump he came back on top of the rail. The old woman could only thank him and bless him.

Shinji sighed and wished that he could take a nap finally without being interrupted. Success! The chuunin fell asleep on top of the uncomfortable boxes and if he did not have such shinobi-like outfit the passengers would believe that he was a homeless person or a drunk sailor.

Kurin and Madam Red were skilled shinobi to say the least and traveling was nothing new to them. They kept a stead, but swift pace as they approached a rather large lake. The dark blueish green waters seemed safe enough but it was large enough for boats to be used to ferry people across. One just happened to be moving out now. It was a good ways out but not far enough to be out of their reach.

Kurin pointed to it, not needed to say a word as he accelerated, channeling chakra to his feet as if it were second nature as he came into contact with the water. As he got within good distance he leapt up, and landed on the deck of the boat, Madam Red right behind him. Passengers around looked worried, probably fearing them to be pirates, but Kurin didn't care. His clam face paid them no attention as he strolled the deck, until he spotted Shinji atop a few crates asleep. A bench sat directly across from the crates. he walked there, and gestured for Angelina to sit, and sat next to her. Mine as well let the boy sleep as the ship took them across the lake back home.

Madam Red followed her new companion silently, not feeling any need to talk. She knew that at some point he'd give her some details about their mission for Swamp.
She had on purpose not warned her village - the Kage didn't need to know about this nor the rest of the world. She'd be discovered soon enough, considering her rather flashy outfit. Also, this was a personal reason that made her join the fight between Wind and Swamp - she had followed a handsome and smart (she at least admitted that) person. And that person was a Kaguya to who she had pledged loyalty.

...No, hell did not freeze; Madam Red merely found some humanity back by associating herself to someone of her own level. And it felt damn good to have some human presence next to you again, one that you didn't feel the need to slit it's throat every single minute. She had that problem with her Kage actually. She just wanted to kill her, the weak woman, whenever she could and just end it there. She couldn't care less about having the place or not of Kage. She just wished to have someone that actually felt superior to her above her. And really, if she could choose, she'd place the Kaguya instead of her Kage without a second thought.

Both of them were running now towards a boat that would take them to Swamp. It was easy, really - no guards seemed to stop them nor shinobi intervene for their late intrusion. The passengers simply made place for them and Angelina observed them from under her large red hat, her ruby eyes shining with a new found passion. She ran her tongue over her lips in anticipation and latched her arm around Kurin's again while they walked over to the place they'd occupy while their journey on the water.

They found his previous companion, the young chuunin, sleeping on a few crates. Angeline couldn't feel but touched by the image of him sleeping - his facial traits were relaxed and he had something of a child. Silently, she was guided to a bench in front of the kid's resting place. Both young people took place on it and Madam Red took her hat off, enjoying the sun on her pale skin, feeling the warmth bringing her some new energy and peace.

The chuunin was safely sleeping on the cargo boxes and was dreaming a happy dream which made a smile on Shinji’s face. In his dream suddenly two naked girls popped out of nowhere calling Shinji’s name and of course that woke him up but the normal way of waking up with hell lot of blood on his chest. He had a massive nosebleed. The Hattori wiped off the blood of his face and felt ashamed of what had just happened. In the end he was a deadly ninja and stuff like that shouldn’t really matter to him but still he would’ve liked to replay that dream once again however the sudden appearance of Kurin and Madam Red were sitting on a bench infront of him.

Shinji put his hand on his katana’s hilt feeling a bit insecure as many thoughts of confusion raided his mind. The grip of the blade made him feel safe and Shinji now had filtered his thoughts and two options were available: Kurin was going to marry that woman or that woman was really a murderer which seduced her victims first and they acted as marionattes!!
He decided he’d go with the first option and so he spoke standing up and with a smirk:

“So I am not around for a few hours and the whole world turns upside down, eh ?” Shinji felt that he was following the ninja code more strictly than Kurin and thought that by that way he had the right to question him even though his rank was lower. “You know foreigners aren’t much liked in Swamp, don’t you, Kurin ?”

Kurin watched the boy, thinking it strange that he was smiling while he slept. Then a sudden nose bleed gave him away. Obviously his young hormones had gotten the best of him i his sleep. He watched as he wiped his face, then noticing them by him, gave a surprised look and placed a hand on his sword. Realizing the situation, he calmed after a moment and stood with a smirk. Kurin didn't like the questioning look he was casting towards Madam Red and himself. The boy spoke to him in a sassy tone and the fact that he was questioning Kurin in this matter did not sit very well. After the boy had spoke, Kurin leveled his calm gaze on the boy. A gaze that many felt very chilling due to the lack of emotion and expression on his face.

"The world is still very much in order boy. If you see it another way I can set it right for you if you'd like."
His tone was not hostile, but calm and straight forward and at a normal volume. He did not want to seem threatening but he did want the young chunin to remember his place.

Kurin was his superior, and one that had forged his name in the swamp through hundreds of dead that had once dared stand in his way. To be disrespected alone was usually not tolerated, but to do so in the company of his new partner...the boy was lucky Kurin was using words at all. After a few moments he spoke again,

"As for Ms. Durless, she will be welcomed at the Swamp and treated very well. She is under my protection and anything do to her will cause my immediate action. Is that clear Shinji Hattori?"

Nothing he said was ever said with a raised tone, all merely stated in a normal voice, but the meaning was so much more. He was prepared to show the boy his place if he persisted. A bell rang and land was sighted. They were approaching a large port, one of the biggest in Marsh Country. Almost half of the ships that came to Marsh country passed through here. It was located at a feed out point for many of the large rivers. They'd be there in moments.

Madam Red had observed the suddenly rush of hormones in the kid's body with amusement. It was a shame, really, to be a ninja and yet not being able to control your own hormones enough and find yourself in such an embarrassing predicament.
And his remark made her chuckle. So innocent he was still - he had yet to see how it felt when something close to hell came down to earth, to cover it with this beautiful coat of red...

She crossed her arms under her chest and gave the kid a coy look, a smirk tugging at her lips. What had she to fear of a village? She was a representative of Blood. If Swamp wanted to enter into another war, of course, the best way would be to harm or mistreat her in any possible way. But with the actual war they had with the Wind Country, it'd be a very foolish thing to do. Plus, it wasn't as if anyone could really touch her. No one actually ever managed to get close enough for that, her Kage included.

Before Angelina could place a word filled with some sarcasm and mocking words, Kurin had spoken up. He clearly hadn't liked it how the chuunin had talked and made a clear message come across. She liked his way of speaking and decided to keep her mouth shut. She had nothing to add to it and merely winked at Shinji.

After the small 'arguement', the bell of the boat rang, to tell the occupants that land was in sight and that they'd soon arrive. She stood up, placing her hat on her short red hair again and walked over to the railing.
Ruby eyes observed the new land, staring at the new country in which she would have to fight. Adapting herself to it would be quite a feat, she noted for herself.

On that, she turned around to her two companions.
"How far is your village from the shore?"

Kurin’s reaction was expected by Shinji, he knew Swamp jounins had some respect issues. His threat about setting right his world annoyed the Hattori and the chuunin wasn’t some one that took back his words and was renowned in Swamp as a pretty persistent guy. Shinji grinded his teeth and growled at Kurin putting his hand on his katana’s hilt and just revealed a small part of the blade. It was probably a dramatic scene for the woman that Kurin brought as the two figures were the exact opposite of each other – the chuunin was a hot tempered and hot headed while the jounin was cold-blooded and calm.
“As long as she remains your responsibility.” He muttered. “ Even after you feel the knife on your back.”

Shinji was not just going to trust one random woman which was shrouded in mystery, he still remembered the murderous presence he felt around her and if Kurin was so easily accepting her then it would be his fault when he finds out her true nature. The chuunin was sure that ,although she might have some sort of skills in battle, since Kurin just recruited her, the mystery that was around her was going to play a bad role for Kurin. Swamp was at war and every aid was useful but Shinji had a bad feeling about her role in the upcoming battle.

The chuunin put back his blade in the sheath walking away from the two of them letting his hand go down but he was still on guard. No matter what, he just didn’t feel right when that woman was around. The bell rang and it alerted the people of arriving soon, Shinji jumped on the railing a few feet away from Angelina and looked at the direction of his village but only to see his usual home trait - the friendly mist - welcoming him.

The snide remark from the chin was about to earn him swift punishment. Kurin calmly stood, gazing right at the chunin as he went to the railing. He heard Madam Red speak was going to answer, as he took a few steps to the chunin...but then he stopped. He wasn't the best sensor in the village, nor was he a super sensitive when it came to detecting chakra. But he was a skilled tracker and very keen observer with some abilities to pick up chakra. As he moved forward at a normal pace with the intention of putting the chunin in his place his eyes were drawn to the side of the port.

At the same time he began taking in the scene, he must have moved close enough to the village to properly feel the area. He stopped in his tracks putting the two things he was detecting together. Staring out at the side of the large port he saw not one, but two wrecked ships. As if they were traveling to the swamp and had been abandoned to sail on their own here. There were a few explanations for one abandoned ship....but two was more suspicious. Enemies could abandon boats and travel on foot, much more concealed and not have to worry about being spotted or passing any Swamp check points along the river.

Then he got his second unsettling insight. He picked up....odd chakra signatures close to his village. From this port they were minutes away form the Swamp and anything this close that was odd, in association to the two abandoned boats here....did not sit well with him. Not only that he felt three powerful chakras...all moving quickly. One he recognized as his Kage. If he was moving then something must be in the air and Kurin wasn't liking the feel of it. Then another of the strange chakra signatures faded until it was gone. This was a cause for action. Possibly meaning a fight was taking place Kurin was not going to take the long way and find out. He spoke quickly to the other two,

"There may be trouble, we have to move..Now."

He gave one mighty jump and landed on the dock's pier, launching into a quick pace the others would be able to match, but one that would ensure he made it to the village within minutes. He needed to move quickly so he could defend his village.

Madam Red was surprised by how easily the chuunin accepted the situation. She wasn't maybe known by him yet, but she had been perceptive enough to know that he had felt that something was amiss with her. And he was right that she might shove a knife in the Kaguya's back - she couldn't read what would happen in the future and for all she knew, it could end up badly.
But with how things were looking now, she wasn't planning to do anything that could harm him. Quite the contrary in fact, considering how her mind decided to be protective over him and also trust him without any conditions.

The Swamp country was very different from hers. It was wet and was filled with lakes along with a thick vegetation and mist. The smells were also different along with the noises. Madam Red kept her usual smiling face, but she had to admit that she was somewhat disturbed by the change. She had never fought in such a place and wondered how it'd go in battle.
Though, she wasn't too worried. It should be similar as fighting in a forest somewhat. And considering that Sand Shinobi were desert people, they'd have the most difficulties - giving them the advantage of knowing the area.
Angelina knew that she would have to be even more careful than usual since she had almost no advantage in this place, except from the protection and help from her new found partner, Kurin Kaguya.

Her senses immediately tingled when they were on land. Powerful chakra signatures were on the move, be them from the right and left, enemy or allies. Madam Red immediately straightened her back and made sure she had her usual weapons ready to be used in her sleeves.
She looked up at her companion and saw his jaw line tense. He was worried, or at least wary of the situation.

"There may be trouble, we have to move...Now." he spoke in one breath, before running from the pier, at a pace that would let them follow him. She could understand that he was worried, she had felt a similar panic when she had felt danger surrounding her sister and husband.
So, she followed him, catching up and running at his side, leaving the chuunin behind to follow them. Her blood was pumping wildly in her veins. A fight was going to happen and she was more than happy to execute the sentences of death for her opponents...

"Kurin...what for opponents do you expect to find?" she asked after having ran for a while. "And what for shinobi will be our allies?"

As they ran Angelina spoke to him. He thought for a moment, piecing together things in his head before responding. Powerful chakra in the area that was unfamiliar to him could only mean a few things.

"More then likely the Sand has chosen now to show themselves. I do not yet know who they have sent, but I can only assume they are not here for peace. Prepare yourself Madam Red. A fight is sure to take place. We will have the entire Swamp Village at out back as well as the Terrain. We have the advantage and whoever they have sent.... I look forward to sending home in a body bag. No mercy is to be given to the Sand."

He let that settle as they moved when a thought struck him. The Sand was moving in on the village from different directions. Tactically it'd be smart to divide and cut them of so they didn't have to rush around to protect the village.

"Shinji. Head out and Find Yahiko. He should feel the Chakra's in the area. Move to the one advancing form the ocean once you have found Yahiko and report to me what is going on. The Swamp may be in danger so move swiftly."

He gave the order and kept his pace expecting the chunin to break off. This would solve some problems so he could focus on the matters at hand and not think about what else is happening. He sped forward as he thought o the possibilities.

Dashing through the misty forests and being fully aware of their surroundings the trio were heading straight to the village. It was high time they dealt with those pests. Pests, but pretty strong pests as Shinji could sense by their chakra signature..

"Shinji. Head out and Find Yahiko. He should feel the Chakra's in the area. Move to the one advancing form the ocean once you have found Yahiko and report to me what is going on. The Swamp may be in danger so move swiftly."

"Alright." He simply acknowledged his orders and dashed away from the group and following the signal he sensed most - the Senju one. It has not been so long ago when Shinji was in the Hunter nin Corps and had assassinated a Senju. The chakra he sensed from the victim was immense but also a bit different than any other chakra he has sensed in his life.

An insane grin creeped upon Madam Red's lips at the reply she got from Kurin. No mercy, eh? Well, that was just what she did with her own victims - she crushed them, ripped them without any restraint, making sure they felt every little piece of pain she could offer them.

The fact that powerful shinobi were expected, thrilled her. Blood would finally rain once again without anything that told her to stop. In fact, she was invited to kill, kill, kill without any mercy for her opponents. And god, how did she love that idea. Her blood was pumping wildly in her veins, adrenaline rushing to her head, making her feel excited like a teenager for it's first date.

She barely listened to Kurin's orders to Shinji, the chuunin and merely followed him. He was completely absorbed by his thoughts of the battle and his face showed a clear determination along with fire in his eyes. Bloody Angelina's smirk grew wider, more feral. Her killer intent was back, more impressive than ever.

This was going to be a lot of fun.
