Kaoru has blonde hair that has the same length as his sister's, but in a different style. With her characteristic fair skin and blue eyes, and her rather slim, frail physique - and yes, even the same facial structure (although his a bit more manly) -, it would be difficult to tell him apart from Hikaru... if they were naked, that is.
Personality:
Hikaru and Kaoru are like echoing minds. They are one, in everything, from likes to dislikes, from habits to reactions. The only thing that would set them apart it would be their gender and voice pitch. People would call them two psychopaths; children of the devil, who need to be eliminated; two flowers of evil that need to be cut and burned. But is that the true way to see them both? Kaoru is fairly different from the core from his sister. Kaoru was the flower of evil, blooming out of the evil root that was Hikaru.
Kaoru appears to be like any other boy of his age, albeit less rough. He likes music, especially with a rhythmic beat; he likes running around with the wind beating against his face; he loves dancing. But on the inside, he is naught but an empty shell; his emotions are solely what Hikaru desires them to appear to be. He wishes for nothing more but to serve his sister; nothing but to make the smile on her face linger eternally. Knowing the instability of his sister's mind, he is glad to be a servant to her, while she can be his princess.
Consequently, not a single person apart from Hikaru matters to him. Not in the slightest. Unless, of course, Hikaru wanted him to. He flaunts the fact that he is Hikaru's prince; he cares about nothing more. Hardly anyone can manage to understand his blunt persona. And hence, the only person he considers a friend is his sister. The only one who managed to be a part of their life is Kurin Kaguya, a man from the Kaguya clan. He was just there; a father who wasn't really a father. He just became a part of their background; just sliding in there.
His definition of 'friend' is quite eccentric, though.
Despite his obsession to his sister, his feelings and emotions have matured past hers. He can feel wants and emotions that are quite human; love, hate, desire, happiness - unlike his sister, who finds solace in murder. Her lack of maturity only complements Kaoru's desire to support her entirely.
Regardless, Kaoru is still his sister's slave; he loves her, and she loves him. Her desires are always more prioritized that his own. If he is to fall in love with anyone, Hikaru wouldn't blame it on him - she would blame it on the third party. And Kaoru would follow her demands like a blind doll.
Being called 'trash' ignites a spark in his mind. It triggers a traumatic childhood memory, as it does to his sister as well. However, she loses herself; Kaoru has a greater grip over his anger. The sheer hatred that is triggered by the word 'trash' is enough to make him want to kill someone - without influence from his sister. Despite almost losing control, Kaoru still has his conscience; he will try to calm his sister down, as he would if she were furious at anything else.

The Resonance twins are capable of transforming their Sound Chakra of their bloodline into pure speed, being able to break through the wall of sound in special circumstances. They are known for being unbeatable in their speed in their village and if not impossible to be caught by outsiders. This is thanks to their Bloodline, Resonance.
Sound:
Kaoru is specialized in Sound Ninjutsu. He can directly manipulate sound waves in the air with his voice; the sound he produces are mostly low pitched. His signature techniques usually involve disrupting body metabolism with contrasting frequencies of sound.
Chakra Control:
Thanks to his bloodline, Kaoru has excellent chakra control. This generally allows him to perform high-ranked techniques without much difficulty.
Healing Abilities:
Again, thanks to his bloodline, his healing abilities are above average human healing.
Completing Minds:
Another advantage granted to him by his bloodline is his ability to listen to sounds of -any- frequency. Not only can he hear sounds normal people can't hear, he can also produce them; thus allowing him to secretly contact his twin, Hikaru.
Sound Taijutsu:
The little of sound taijutsu Hikaru and Kaoru can muster is supplementary for them; it stuns or surprises the enemy enough to prepare their next combo or simple attack. Hikaru is a little more experienced with taijutsu than Hikaru.
Combat Weaknesses:
Strength
The Resonance people put all their strength into their speed and sound abilities, relying onto their bloodline for a great deal. Also, their body doesn't allow any strength manifestations except if one is specialized into Sound taijutsu.
Endurance:
Hikari and Kaoru's endurance aren't very good. It is merely because they work together and because of their great chakra control that they surpass a jounin in strength. Also, they need to eat a lot - without regular, proper meals, they are lacking their usual strength and concentration.
Elemental Ninjutsu
Because of his bloodline, Kaoru is incapable of using ninjutsu that utilizes an element, Thus, he is weaker to elemental ninjutsu compared to regular ninja.
Separation
If separated from Hikaru, Kaoru loses coordination and focus, and will stop at nothing to find her again.

Why do I hate the word 'trash'? For the memories linked to it; the first time we had been found, we were called 'trash'. "Trash belongs with trash", he said - those were the last words he spoke. That was my - that was our - first kill. A justified kill. The peasant deserved it. Although we didn't know it then, the dignity of being the first twins born to the Resonance in twenty years had made us kill the man, he who had disrespected the most ultimate power ever known.
Later on, however, we were found by a couple. In a sad state, they were; it was evident that Hikaru disliked being with them. But they did feed us and take care of us through our youth, albeit in a way that didn't suit a princess. Myself, I appreciated them; Hikaru, she abhorred them - she hated them for their weakness. For they couldn't awaken the Resonance within them, and had to rely on us for protection and power. They were... tolerable, at the least. But both of us lost our tolerance when we overheard their whispers; they spoke of peace, and of making a name in the village by using us.
It wasn't hard to take care of them. And I couldn't let Hikaru clean up the mess. It is befitting for a princess to be involved in hard labor. It is even more befitting for a servant to leave a task undone for his mistress.
Our life would have been a hard one, had it not been for the strong will of Hikaru. Honestly, she could rule the world with her willpower. We hardly knew that the rest of the world was there - we did what we liked, and if anyone stopped us: Off with their heads! ... Or at least, that was Hikaru's motto. I felt compelled to follow her, but sometimes my conscience got ahead of me; luckily, I could count on my sister to do what I could not. I could do nothing if I had no one to follow, and she set a marvelous red carpet for me to walk upon. She let our 'parents' live longer than the other members of the Resonance clan. She says it isn't because we respected them, but because they had food, and without food you died. I doubt the truth in this, though.
I was her servant, and she was the princess; and the rest of the world mattered not. Apart from a man of the Kaguya clan. His tale shall be told later on.
But if we had no guidance, how were we to be considered shinobi? It was I that took the incentive to go to the academy with her once; that was a failed experiment, too shameful for me to write in ink. Instead, we learned from the Swamp Village elders; but alas, the tedious procedures of the basic jutsu bored us to near death. We learned them indeed, and without using them, murdered our tutors. They were too dull.
The entire village respected us, but reading behind the lines, I could tell that they revered us. Abusing the village customs, they prevented us from unleashing our true potential; from training the way the ultimate Resonance twins must. Hikaru was particularly upset by this. But this was our village, and we were to respect its customs. Then again, Hikaru was my princess; her word was absolute. Thusly grew one of my goals in life; to create a village solely for the Resonance clan, where we would lead and others would obey.
Hikaru got this idea from Orochimaru, but personally, I dislike the man. Snakes? Not so amazing.
But we had to become official ninja sooner or later; Hikaru couldn't remain unknown, what with her dominating power. It was late at night when I sneaked out. His son's life seemed a good bargain for the Academy headmaster to let us rank up.
As soon as it was official, Hikaru and I eliminated all of the elders who had decided this. Even the headmaster's son. The last words spoken the old man was, "Trash belongs with trash.". Hikaru made sure that his face was unrecognizable.
Everlasting blood, tainting our hands...

It was Kurin Kaguya that found us one day. He raised us through our genin days. Hikaru didn't seem particularly fond of him at first; I am ashamed to admit that I have failed to obey her commands, as she has told me time and again to eliminate this Kaguya. Hikaru herself attempted to kill the Kaguya, but she was struck with a severe illness at the time. It was at this time period that Kurin grew close to us; he took care of my princess throughout the sickness. Hikaru, although she didn't admit it, grew to like him - a fact I heavily repent. Had I killed the man earlier, I would have been the sole prince for my princess.
We owe him a lot, though. He made us hone our abilities as twins, and despite his occasional violence, it was worth fighting through since we reached perfect synchronization. As a group, me and Hikaru were unbeatable. And we were only ten years old. The techniques me and Hikaru use now are still based off what we learned from Kurin.
The best part about him was the he didn't stop us. He let us realize our potential, and he let us do whatever we liked. This included the mass massacring of many people, in many, many ways. We would assassinate someone silently one day, and then enter a blood festival the next. In a year, we learned more about our bloodline than the clan elders did in (probably) all their lives. We were fascinated by the immense power of our bloodline. By the end of the year, we had killed about 50 people; in that, we killed over half the members of the current Resonance clan.
And we loved it. Hikaru more than me, though; she got quite inhumane at times. If it were not for me, the death count would probably amount to a few hundred.
She was loveless, and as the days passed, I knew that she was less like me than I thought. It was hard to contemplate living with her forever; to kill, I enjoyed, but not at the level she did. A painful day it was when I realized that I had fallen in love with another girl; I felt almost as close to her as I did to Hikaru, and I had only known her for a day. And I knew that the feelings we shared were intense. Guilt consumed me - who would I choose?
We have grown, but alas, we have not.

Years passed by, and our power grew more, day by day. We earned our rank this time; we were Chuunin of the Swamp Village. But this was nothing to be happy for; rather, I am saddened. Hikaru isn't the same happy girl she used to be. She seems to be trapped within herself. Yes, both of us still go in killing sprees. And yes, the same look of bloodlust on her face reigns throughout the kill.
But there is something not quite right. I cannot quite sound my voice on it, but something is amiss.

Name: Kawarimi no Jutsu Rank: E Type: Ninjutsu Range:10m away from original place. Element: N/A Description: This jutsu lets the user quickly switch places with another nearby object, such as a plant (normally a section of a log), an animal, or even another person within reach, leaving the opponent open to a counter-attack. Explosive tags can be attached to the replacement for an added surprise. Fundamentally, all ninja know this technique.
Name: Henge no Jutsu Rank: E Type: Ninjutsu Range:N/A Element: N/A Description: This jutsu allows the user to assume the appearance of another person, animal, or object. This is one of the basic jutsu taught at the Konoha Ninja Academy. Fundamentally, all ninja know this jutsu. The transformation jutsu is considered to be among the more difficult E-ranked techniques, since it requires constant emission of chakra while mentally maintaining the form. On top of that, the user would be, most likely, interacting with the environment. This puts much mental strain on the inexperienced ninja.
Name: Bunshin no Jutsu Rank: E Type: Ninjutsu Range:N/A Element: N/A Description: This technique creates intangible copies of the user. The clones are simply illusions and will dissipate when they come into contact with something. The illusions can be seen through by the Byakugan and the Sharingan. A person with normal eyes can also distinguish the clones from the original, since the clones will not disrupt the area around themselves with their movement (won't kick up dust, crush grass, etc.).
Name: Genjutsu Kai Rank: E Type: Ninjutsu Range:10m (Genin) 50m (S-Rank) Element: N/A Description: Kai is a Ninjutsu technique which allows the ninja to avoid the effects of a Genjutsu illusion. After forming the needed handseals, the Genjutsu technique will not affect the ninja. The ninja can also use the technique on another individual who was unable to avoid the attack. After forming the needed hand seals, the ninja touches the one affected to end the affect of the spell.
Name: Bikou Ninjutsu - Shadowing Stealth Technique Rank: E Type: Ninjutsu Range: 10m away from target Element: N/A Description: Bikou Ninjutsu is the technique ninjas use to follow their targets covertly. The manner in which the ninja shadows their target can differ, from the basic hiding under a nearby object, to using a jutsu to turn oneself invisible.
Taijutsu

Name: A Great Many Punches Element: Sound Type: Nintaijutsu Rank: D Range: User Preference Description: The clan member makes his/her own hand vibrate at such speeds that when they strike, the punch is much more powerful and can even tear or burn clothes from the friction caused by the quick vibrations causing the hand to move about instead of staying in place. The downside is that any damage caused to the opponent is also caused to the hand used to punch, unless the user has some kind of protective covering. Precise punches are nearly impossible while using this technique. The strength of the punch is also partly determined by the amount and the density of the protective wear: 0 layers of protective wear- 2x strength of normal punch, 20% of damage is done to the hand itself. 1 layer of protective wear- 1.5x strength of normal punch, 10% of damage is done to the hand itself. 2 layers of protective wear- 1x strength of normal punch, no damage is done to the hand. This is because although the hand vibrates, the protective wear does not carry the vibrations well. Metal gauntlets, even gauntlets made from the clan's special vibration metal, would work even worse, as the hand would vibrate inside the gauntlets and cause much more damage to the hand, despite the increased friction, even possibly causing broken bones. Handseals are not required.
Name: Tap Dancing Rank: D Type: Taijutsu Range: User Preference Element: Sound Description: Utilizing the great speed granted by the Resonance bloodline, the user can smack his/her body parts against each other and produce violent sound waves at the points of contact. Further application of the speed allows the user to surround the foe with multiple blasts of sound from all angles, as he/she follows a guerrilla fighting tactic (hit, run, hit, run, etc.). However, this is very tiring, and cannot be continued for more than 2 posts. A cooldown of 2 more posts is required before the user can use any other taijutsu.
Name: Bee's Fist Rank: C Type: Taijutsu Range: User Preference Element: Sound Description: The user begins vibrating his/her limbs at an annoyingly rapid frequency. The vibrations cause a sound to be created, that is very similar to that of a bee buzzing around. Using the technique greatly reduces the individual strength in a punch, but since the hand is vibrating, just touching an object for a second causes about 50 punches to make contact. Maintaining the vibrations consumes a lot of stamina; users usually only begin vibrating their hand just before they are about to make contact with an opponent. Using the technique for only 20 seconds continuously can cause the user to lose most of his/her stamina.
Name: Doing our Laundry Rank: C Type: Taijutsu Range: 2m Element: Sound Description: The user mimics a motion similar to that of preparing to sling a cloth upon a thread; i.e. the user imitates to motion of preparing for laundry. His/her hands reel back, and are clasped together, as if he/she is holding something. With swift hand joint jerks, the user claps his hands together several times in quick succession, trapping the sound within the palms of his/her hands. The user can continue doing this for about five seconds, and the longer he/she does it, the more powerful is the blast at the end of this technique. However, exceeding 5 seconds causes the sound to be lost. If an opponent approaches a range of 2 meters in front of the user, the user can sling his/her arms forward (again, as if he/she were hanging his/her laundry) and let out the entire blast of sound, which is emitted as a powerful honk and usually staggers the victim.
Name: Resonant Orchestra - Absolute Bass Rank: B Type: Taijutsu Range: User Preference Element: Sound Description: The user starts vibrating his/her hand or arm, or any other body part that is convenient. The frequency of the vibrations coincide with whatever object the user's body part is in contact with, and the colliding frequencies of the materials cause the object to shatter. This technique can shatter any object, including human skin; however, when used on human skin, the user's own skin becomes obliterated, since his/her skin's natural frequency is the same as that of the target. It takes immense effort to cause the body to vibrate at such frequencies - after using this technique, the body part used will be ineffective for one post.
Ninjutsu

Name: Vibration Repression Element: Sound Type: Ninjutsu Rank: D Range: User Preference Description: Requires handseals. After completing the handseals, the clan member can stop all sounds coming from their own bodies. They dampen the vibrations normally caused by sounds coming from their body, making them almost soundless. This does not stop other sound jutsu from being effective. Jutsu lasts for one post; 5 post cooldown. This jutsu does not have any effect on other jutsu.
Name: Sonar Element: Sound Type: Ninjutsu Rank: C Range: 1m - 500m Description: The clan member using this jutsu must first have their bare feet touching the ground. They will then push a single, low-frequency vibration through and along the ground. The vibrations will bounce off of anything inside of or on the ground, allowing the clan member to be able to know where something or someone is. It takes an entire post (the post after this skill is used) to interpret the rebounding vibrations. This leaves the ninja open for attack while he/she is focused on deciphering the huge amount of information. Requires handseals. Only useful once per topic
Name: Vocal/Sound Mimicry Element: Sound Type: Ninjutsu Rank: C Range: User Preference Description: By listening to a person's voice once, the clan member can imitate their voice exactly. They use the exact frequency, pitch, and sound of their voice and duplicate it into their own vocal chords, making a perfect replica. This is mostly used for confusing a foe or even just to annoy an opponent. This can also be used to imitate certain noises. Noises captured electronically cannot be used for this jutsu (the static behind the voice throws off the technique). This mimicry only lasts for two posts, even in non-battle situations, but the clan member can remember the voice or noise for their entire lives. Cooldown of three posts; during this cool-down, the clan member loses his/her voice and cannot speak.
Name: Here and There Rank: C Type: Ninjutsu Range: N/A Element: Sound Description: This technique only works in a walled room/chamber, sealed from all sides. The user creates a sound of relatively low pitch, and continually supplements the sound. Reverberating continuously off the walls of the chamber, the victim's essential sense of hearing will be distorted as he/she hears the same dull note coming from all sides. The Resonance take advantage of this jutsu in the darkness, where the user can 'see' using the reflections of sound, while the victim cannot use sound to detect the user. However, the use has to pause to catch his/her breath; the momentous pause provides an opening for the opponent, albeit being a small one. Also, the persistent reverberation of the sound may continue to ring in the foe's ears, in which case the opponent won't even notice the pause.
Name: Resonant Orchestra - Bass Rank: C Type: Ninjutsu Range: 0m - 1m Element: Sound Description: The user produces a sound of a frequency that matches the frequency of a selected object. The object will shatter/ disintegrate. The method and speed of the disintegration depends on the material with which the object is made. (e.x. glass will shatter immediately, while clay pottery might disintegrate slowly) The density of the material determines how long the sound will have to be produced before the object breaks. Before using this technique, the user usually taps the targeted object - this tells him/her the natural frequency of sound produced by the object. The user can shatter nearly any material with this technique, provided that the object can be manipulated in some way to produce a sound itself, i.e. the user must know the natural frequency of the material, and produce a sound matching that frequency. At its greatest, the technique can be used to crack human bones - not unless the user can manage to discover the natural frequency of the foe's bones, though.
Name: 100% Volume Rank: B Type: Ninjutsu Range: 0m - 30m Element: Sound Description: The user screams out with incredible loudness, and a variable pitch. The technique abuses the fact that the middle ear amplifies sound 25 times before it reaches the brain; as soon as the brain receives this sound, the victim feels a sharp, long-lasting pain in his/her brain. The pain lasts ten seconds after the sound dissipates, and while the sound is being produced. If the pitch is taken outside the audible range of the human ear, the sharp pain seems to have been caused without stimulus. The user is usually not affected by this. (Read the effect of the headphones used by the Resonance Clan)
Name: Crushing Cry Rank: B Type: Ninjutsu Range: 5m - 20m Element: Sound Description: The user produces a pulse infrasound of extremely low frequency, but of remarkably high amplitude (i.e. very loud) with his/her voice. The inaudible sound wave produced is massive in size, and the compressions and rarefactions caused by it are plainly visible, as a powerful gale is set up where the pulse of sound passes. The sheer pressure within the compressed zone is enough to crush solid objects; a human's bones might crack if the person is standing at the zone of the compression, as air particles constrict upon him/her from all sides. However, at any other part of the sound wave, the foe will only experience a breeze passing by him/her. The distance at which the compression will form can be controlled by the pitch of the sound. The jutsu requires no handseals, but has a cool-down of 2 posts, during which the user in unable to utilize voice-based techniques.
Name: Blood Burst Rank: B Type: Ninjutsu Range: 0m - 10m Element: Sound Description: The fact that this technique is sound-based makes it necessary for the user to ensure that the sound isn't projected around his/her own body - most of the time, the user cups his/her hands around his/her mouth carefully, although any other method may be used. The user creates a sound of very low frequency, well below human hearing range. The frequency of the sound oscillates between 4 hertz to 10 hertz. At a random frequency between the aforementioned range, the sound will coincide with the natural frequency of the opponent's digestive system. This won't destroy the opponent's insides, but it will cause him/her to cough up blood, and experience a terrible pain in his/her abdomen. Exposure to this sound for over 30 seconds can cause internal bleeding as well, further increasing the pain. Death can occur with extensive exposure to the sound due to blood loss. This is usually used for torturing people, and is used in controlled environments, lest the sound is received by the user's own body. The sensation occurs because the opponent's insides begin vibrating at a violent rate.
