The lakes are supposed to be a perfect spot for lovers to visit at spring.

But nature rebelled, with some help from evil natured people; the lakes froze completely and the ground around them is like that of the north pole: covered with snow, not showing a single trace of greenery. The only things one could see were the fish, swimming blatantly under the ice.

Rumors say that the Youkai is in the largest lake of them all: inside the lake where there are no fish, where the ice is at its thickest. But amongst over a hundred lakes, spanning at least a few miles ahead, how is one to find it?

Five travel posts with a total count of 600 words minimum is required to finish this step of the event.

Kimiko had heard of the strange events that where going on in this area. Several lakes that almost never froze had been frozen for several weeks and no matter how many people tried to thaw the lakes with there fire elemental techniques they had failed. So they called on people to find out the reason why. Kimiko Satsukari was one of the ninja who answered the call.

She had put her Xzeno training on a temporary hold in order to make her way to the frozen lakes. Traveling here had taken several days but she had finally made it here.

“I’m finally here.” She whispered to herself as she found herself surrounded by snow.

“So...much snow..” She said allowed, She hadn’t seen this much snow years, since the last time the generators in Aurora had broken.

After standing taking in the beauty of the snow and ice she began walking slowly making her way through the snow, which even now continued to fall. It took several hours just to travel across the smallest of the lakes. Upon reaching the other side of the lake she found a trail of blood going away from the lake. Bending down she ran her fingers across the blood, which reveled to her the blood was fresh and had been spilled within the last twenty minutes.

She stood up slowly contemplating whether she should find out what the blood is from or whether she should just continue going straight. After several minutes of contemplating what she was going to do she decided to follow the trail of blood. After several feet the trail of blood went from being a long streak to bloody foot prints. This pulled at her curiosity even more, wondering what another human being was doing here in this are that had become nothing more then a frozen wasteland.

“Who are you...” She whispered to herself as she continued following the trail of blood. Smiling slightly as she passed several different animals that had traveled here to enjoy the cold, Arctic foxes, white wolves, Arctic hares, and snow owls where all over the place. Unknown to Kimiko, while following the bloody path she had crossed yet another of the frozen lakes.

Kimiko smirked as the trail of blood ended but foot prints in the snow continued, that meant the bleeding had stopped and whoever was leaving the trail was still alive. Knowing she needed to hurry this up so she could get to the largest of the lakes and hunt down the reason this area had turned into a frozen wasteland.

"Come out, come out where ever you are...” She whispered as she continued to follow the the path of foot prints. Until out of the blue the foot prints just stopped, in front of a tree.

“Why are you in a tree..” She asked calmly, as a tall dark haired ninja wearing a simple dark blue ninja outfit with a Blood head band around his right shoulder. His lower stomach was spotting a large bite mark from what looked like a wolf that had just recently stopped bleeding.

“My name is Katote Shikumei, I’m a ninja from Ketsuekigakure. I’m here to figure out why this area froze over and put a stop to it.” The male said calmly.

“Well I’m Kimiko Satsukari, ninja from Kyokukogakure, currently given permission to train in Foseikungakure. You can leave, I’ve got this handled. So...why don’t you go get that wound checked out?” She said, a small amount of anger in her voice about someone trying to complete this before she did.

“That would be a good idea...” The man said before slowly walking off, towards the smallest of the lakes. With a sigh of relief Kimiko began heading towards the biggest lake once again.

Kimiko sighed as she began her trek towards the frozen lake. However out of the blue a large wolf with blood dripping from its fangs, likely they same wolf who had bitten Katote, charged at Kimiko. As it approached it jumped into the air and bit her right arm.

“GAHHH!!!!” She screamed out in pain as she punched the wolf in the nose with her left fist.

“Let go!” She yelled as the wolf fell to the ground growling. Kimiko’s chakra began growing darker as a ball of silvery chakra formed in her mouth. As she opened her mouth she shot the beam towards the wolf, burning a whole right through its chest.

After several minutes of enjoying the kill, Kimiko came to her senses and realised what had happened, her dark nature had used her anger to take control for a few short moments.

“No...I...killed it...I...” She mumbled as she droped to her knees over the wolf and began crying. This crying fit continued for almost fifteen minutes before she calmed down enough to use some of the clean snow to clean out the wound on her arm and bandage it up before standing back up and continuing her journey.

Kimiko slowly continued on her journey towards the largest of the lakes. Most of the day had already passed and the sun had set. The moon had already begun to risen and was full, shining a bright white, it made the frozen surroundings all the more beautiful.

“Its a shame that this will have to end...I find this place to be so much more beautiful covered in snow and ice..” She whispered to herself as she continued walking. Enjoying every minute of the cold she stopped several times to watch the animals walk around. Not only was the snow and ice beautiful, but the animals that now were able to live here because of the drop in temperature were all very cute. Where would all these creatures go once the area was turned back to normal?

After a few more hours of walking and stopping periodically, she finally made it to her destination. She was standing in the very center of the largest lake in the entire area. But now what? All is she had been told was to get here and stand in this spot and wait.

“Anybody here!?” She hollered out waiting for something to happen. Then appearing out of nowhere a small african child with piercing black eyes began approaching Kimiko.
