The Hungry Dogs Valley

The Hungry Dogs Valley was a wasteland up north to Foseikungakure, a place where at night hungry dogs were searching for food, chasing the rabbits, prairy dogs and rats that lived there. The whole place was covered with half dried out grass and large patches of stomped earth, probably hiding one or another ruins under it.

It was one of those spots where no one came, that no one cared about nor saw any use in it. No one, except for once silver haired, hot tempered genin.
Since he knew how dangerous his trainings could be, he liked having thise big, flat space for him alone, where he could make his bombs explode without getting an angry jounin on his back about how he destroyed public propriety or whining herbivores that got injured because they were stupid enough not to go away when he said so.
The dogs didn't care he killed a few mice here and there; they ate them up every night and left the bones to turn into dust in the sun the next day.

Finishing his smoke, he crushed the cigarette under his shoe and threw it aside on the ground, kicking some dirt over it for good mesure. Then, he patted the boxes at his side. Today, he was going to work out and open one of those. But for that, he needed a good warm up and feel in his element. This clean place wasn't really his thing; a battlefield always managed to get him worked up enough to get into action, real action.

A grin slipped on his face while bombs slipped inbetween his fingers, like he'd be holding the hands of a girl. With his other hand, he lit another cancer stick, inhaling the nicotine in and exhaled it out through his mouth. Then, he lit the bombs in his left hand, letting the small pieces of string rapidly burn down, towards the dynamite sticks.
In a swift move, he threw them to an invisible opponent and while he jumped back for the blow of the explosion, he prepared other bombs, the double amount this time.
His green eyes darted towards another enemy, that was running right towards him, a kunai in it's hand, ready to attack him. Prepared on the classic move, Gokudera threw half of the bombs at the enemy's feet and the rest at his face; jumping backwards, pumping his chakra in his legs to activate his muscles somewhat more, he grinned when the enemy tried franatically to escape.
"Boom." murmured the genin with a satisfied smirk, the bombs expolsing right after the "m" had slipped off his tongue.

But that wasn't enough; two other enemies were there, better prepared this time, one of them had incantated an earth jutsu, a wave of earth approached Gokudera at a frightning speed; He bit his tumb and hit it against one of the boxes, the first one of his right, summoning it's powerful and unique attack: Exploding Lotus.
The wave could hit Gokudera, he would only end up having a few bruises and maybe a sprained ankle. But this guy was ready to be barbequed. The other opponent, too scared to do anything, hurled itself at the bomb user, screaming in anger and desperation. Gokudera barely kicked the man in the face and slipped two bombs in it's pockets. Doing several backflips, Gokudera got out of the way of the explosion, explosion that sent the man surely to the hospital if he had been real.

There! He had missed one of those sneaky bastards! He had concealed himself in a genjutsu to hide his presence! Gokudera scowled, not being able to get his bombs ready in time. So, he bit his thumb again, hoping that the box he tried to unlock would just open already.

The ninja was preparing a fire ball! Open, stupid box!
25 meters till the man was there...
And it opened, a red light coming out of it, envelopping Gokudera's arm, taking the form of a sort of a cannon. When the light was finally gone, Gokudera saw two skulls decorating the front and back, both with their jaws open.

15 meters...
The one on the back was holding it's head with boned hands, as if it was screaming in fear. Not exactly caring about the looks of the weapon, he slipped by instinct a bomb in the mouth of the skull and placed his hand on the back of the "gun", hoping it would shoot.
Ten meters...
Gokudera scowled and cursed loudly. Just shoot already, stupid device!
Five...

Chakra! He had maybe to put chakra in the stupid thing!
1...
And a large, read beam came out of the cannon, shooting the man right in the chest. Stunned, the man looked at the kid and then fell, like a crumpled card castle.

Adrenaline falling down, Gokudera's knees turned into jelly, making him fall on his backside, panting heavily. The cannon was still on his arm, now smoking softly and small, red flames burning at the sides of the front skull.
Feeling chakra being drained, the bomber let the summon go, the red beam reappearing and going back in it's box.

Not even broken in sweat, Gokudera grinned at himself, satisfied of his work.
"You know, it would be easier to unlock the box with my help you know."
The happy facial expression faltered quickly for an angry frown. Scowling at his own belly, the silver haired genin snapped back at the prisoner he held inside.
"Shut it, Fox. I can do this on my own. If I feel like needing your help, I'll ask you."
And the conversation was left at that, silence taking back it's righful place over the Hungry Dogs Valley.
