Hayashi, Jun

Hayashi Jun Juni

General Information
Name: Jun

Gender: Male

Body Type: Lean, muscular.

General Appearance. Jun stands at five foot three, muscled and lightly tanned with dark hair and perceptive eyes. Usually clothed in dark, unobtrusive wear, Jun's main interest seems to be to observe the people around him without being noticed. He clearly favors the strongholds of stillness and silence over any kind of physical intimidation; this is made obvious by the type of concentrated, calculated movement which whispers quiet intent. He carries a tanto in a leather sheath, and seems exceptionally protective of it.

In terms of physical marks, Jun carries the scars typical of a young ninja, and more. Added to these is an ornately tattooed clan curse mark on the left side of his chest - without fail, he keeps this covered, usually not just by clothing, but with the leather strap of the tanto slung over it.

Personality: Jun is quiet; exceptionally quiet. Initially it was enforced deference; it soon became habit. Even a direct question is something he prefers to answer with a gesture, on the occasion wherein it can't be evaded in the first place. Intelligent but slow to trust, he usually waits before he feels he understands a person's basic likely reactions, before he'll willingly speak with them. However, should someone manage to earn that trust, they earn a dogged, if silent, loyalty to go with it. He understands the difference between liking a person, and respecting them, and holds an ironically high importance for honor. He has his own defined code, difficult to assess or understand, but he will follow it, even if it requires him to use distasteful means to an end. Jun is the type who will play the criminal to get a task done, if required, but also will do so in his own fashion, carefully without malice. Ironically enough, this ruthless methodiscism does not discount a biting sense of humor - as a result, people tend to be unsure of how exactly to classify him, and thus, consider him something of a wildcard.

He strives to be acknowledged, and has a dangerous (if unexpressed) personal ambition - to research the pre-war jutsus and master them, to attain that acknowledgement. Jun upholds a love-hate relationship with his father's clan, as he is a bastard child, and considered a disgrace to the family. As a result, when asked his name, he will often answer with what he assumes to be his mother's maiden name, 'Hayashi'.

Other: The curse mark affords him no extra powers; it is a method by which he can be controlled, rather than a double-edged power stock.

Age: 12

Height: five foot three

Weight: 101 lbs

Likes: Silence, Rain, Music, Comradeship, Learning, Being Acknowledged, Training.

Dislikes: Having his curse mark activated, his father's clan, close people misreading his reactions, traitors, avocado.

~Bio~
Jun Hayashi was born under complicated circumstances. The son of one powerful clan impregnated the daughter of another, out of wedlock. The uproar it caused would, inevitably, dictate much of the life of the child, who was born in secret before it could be, in good conscious, aborted. It perhaps could have been resolved honorably, had the two been married. As it was, both clans steadfastly refused the match; his clan, claiming they would not tolerate a whore gracing their halls, hers, claiming that he had raped her, and thus they would not permit such an insult. Elders in both clans were consulted. A sage was sought - and it became apparent that the child may bear the kekkei genkai of his father's blood. It would be too much of a risk to the clan to allow the child to grow up not bound to secrecy, and too much a dishonor to kill it. Eventually, on the advice of that sage, the child was quartered with his father's family, rather than his mothers - but under strict rule. The child would not grow up a full member of the clan, nor would he be allowed to know the identities of his parents. Instead, he would serve the clan, and be painfully bound to their secrecy. The child was given two curses - the brand over his heart which, on the whim of a clan elder, could cause immeasurable pain, and his name: Jun, written with the kanji for 'obedience'. That obedience was expected, and exacted accordingly. The secrets were kept.

Jun learned not to ask questions regarding his parents - he could quite easily have been in the same room as his father at any point, and not known as much. He had no knowledge not only of either his mother or father's names, but not of which of their clans had adopted him, what clan the other parent had come from, or even why he was not permitted to know these things.

As he grew, the sage's prediction he may possess the bloodline trait of the family meant that, inevitably, he was enrolled in the Academy. It was on the first night of his enrollment that Jun acquired his tanto - upon returning to his quarters that night, he found the weapon resting on his pallet, the name 'Hayashi Jun' chakra-carved onto the blade. He could only assume that someone wanted to have the weapon, and although he had never heard of a Hayashi clan, the conclusion that the name had been his mother's, was the only one that made sense. It could have as easily been his father's name, but as he'd been ordered to sign official Academy registration documents with the clan name, he doubted that. In light of this, Jun searched for any record of a Hayashi clan in the history of the village, and found none. Thus, he assumed that the Hayashi family were either civilians, rogue ninja...or a clan from a separate village. The blade was never questioned, nor mentioned by any members of the clan that housed him, but it fueled the burning curiosity about his origins.

It became apparent to Jun, throughout those years, that the only way he would ever have these questions answered, would be if he could make people acknowledge him. If he grew up not to be a second-rate bastard child, but a shinobi worthy of respect, independent of his birth, then perhaps his life could have meaning, meaning which he would be free to craft on his own. This in turn began a private obsession with the knowledge of old, powerful, forgotten jutsu. Passing the Academy exams by age 11, Jun was initially passed over by the Jounin for a place as a student - with several students and few teachers, it was more important to continue the training and advancement of the prized sons of influential families, rather than that of a bastard. Twelve months later, the Jounin were again to choose students - Jun again, on the list of possible candidates.

As a result of the total lack of individual training, Jun is exceptionally good with his basic Academy skills (which, clearly, had been practiced on his own time to the point of obsession), but is seriously lacking in regards to specialized skill sets, and his control over anything elemental is experimental at best. Those ninjutsu techniques he does know, he has developed alone, and more than likely, need drastic input from a more skilled ninja to be developed.

[OOC: I'm aware that this is set out vaguely - this is intentionally done so that other players can interact with the character, whilst still having some idea of his social background. Should anyone wish to claim another member for their clan, consider incorporating Jun. The character has been designed to slot into a pre-existing construct, and your character need not be his mother or father in order to do so. Added to that, any Jounin who does sponsor him has an almost blank canvas for advanced jutsu development; keep in mind that does not mean he will not learn from other sources.]

Ninja Information
Village: Aurora

Rank: Genin (currently unsponsored)

Elements: Wind, Water

Jutsu:

Slightly below average Taijutsu.
General skills:

Name: Body Flicker Technique
Type: General skills
Rank: E
Description: This jutsu is a high-speed movement technique, allowing a ninja to move short to long distances at an almost untraceable speed. To an observer, it appears as if the user has teleported. A puff of smoke is occasionally used to disguise the user's movements. It is accomplished by using chakra to temporarily vitalize the body and move at extreme speeds. The amount of chakra required depends on the overall distance and elevation between the user and their intended destination.

Name: Body Replacement Technique
Type: General skills
Rank: E
Description: This jutsu lets the user quickly switch places with another nearby object, such as a plant (normally a section of a log), an animal, or even another person within reach using the Body Flicker Technique, the moment an attack hits. This creates an optical illusion, making the enemy think the attack was successful. The user can then use this confusion to escape or launch a counter-attack.

Name: Cloak of Invisibility Technique
Type: General skills
Rank: E
Description: This jutsu allows a ninja to take a cloak or a piece of cloth and blend into an object, making them invisible.

Name: Clone Technique
Type: General skills
Rank: E
Description: This technique creates intangible copies of the user. The clones are simply illusions and will dissipate when they come into contact with something.

Name: Transformation Technique
Type: General skills
Rank: E
Description: This jutsu allows the user to transform either themselves or another object into the appearance of another person, animal, or object.

Name: Tree Climbing Practice
Type: General skills
Rank: E
Description: This is a training method used to gain the basic skills of chakra control. This training involves focusing a fixed amount of chakra to the bottom of one's feet, and using that to climb a tree without using one's hands. If the stream of chakra is too weak, the user will lose their footing on the tree and fall off. If it is too strong, the bark of the tree will break and the user will fall.

Name: Water Surface Walking Practice
Type: General skills
Rank: E
Description: This training method is used to gain better chakra control. It involves emitting a constant stream of chakra from the bottom of the one's feet and using the repellent force to walk across the water's surface. This technique is more difficult to master than the Tree Climbing Practice, because the amount of chakra that needs to be emitted changes constantly. It has also been shown that one can use their chakra to "skate" across the water surface, instead of walking or running.

Name: Waterfall Running Practice
Type: General skills
Rank: E
Description: This training method is used to gain better chakra control. It involves emitting a constant stream of chakra from the bottom of the one's feet and using the repellent force to run up the waterfall's surface. This technique is more difficult to master than the Tree Climbing Practice and Water Surface Walking Practice, because the amount of chakra that needs to be emitted changes constantly.

Ninjustu:
Name: Wind Whisper Technique
Type: Espionage and Communication
Rank: D to C, dependent on weather.
Description: This technique uses chakra to manipulate streams of air to thicken in order to amplify or conceal sound - for example, to listen in on a conversation, or to carry a message across a battlefield. It is a subtle, very adaptable technique with no offensive or defensive capabilities, and requires variable chakra control, able to shift with air currents. This technique is more effective when combined with the Water Whisper technique.

Name: Water Whisper Technique
Type: Espionage and Communication
Rank: D to C, dependent on weather.
Description: Amplifies the effects of the Wind Whisper Technique by utilizing the thermal currents which rise from the surface of water. When used in this manner, this technique is effective also to create potent diversions, or to block the sound emitted by a target almost completely.

Name: Wind Wall Technique
Type: Defensive
Rank: D
Description: As simply as the name suggests, this jutsu throws up a defensive wall of wind; it will stop most basic attacks, but will largely not stand up to chakra infused attacks.

Name: Water Wall Technique
Type: Defensive
Rank: D
Description: Similar to the Wind Wall Technique, but stronger and requiring of more chakra, but correspondingly, more effective.

Name: Wind Blast Technique
Type: Offensive
Rank: D
Description: Taijutsu infused with an edge of elemental chakra. Imprecise, but packs a punch.

Name: Water Blast Technique
Type: Offensive
Rank: D
Description: Similar to the Wind Blast Technique, but causes more damage, and costs more chakra.

Name: Wind Cage Technique
Type: Defensive / Offensive
Rank: C
Description: Creates a cage of wind around the target; this can be used to either detain an opponent, or to shield an ally. This is a weak to moderate technique, but would be effective for containing non-shinobi, or shinobi of low skill. Jun has not mastered this technique.

Name: Water Cage Technique
Type: Defensive / Offensive
Rank: C
Description: A step up from the Wind Cage Technique, this has the advantage of being able to create an airtight space; again, if necessary, detaining (and cutting off the oxygen), of an enemy with low skill. Because of the molecular nature of water, this takes much more effort to maintain than the Wind Cage Technique. It will take an opponent of greater skill to break through this than the Wind Cage technique would. Jun has not mastered this technique.

Name: Wind Suffocation Technique
Type: Offensive
Rank: A
Description: A jutsu wherein the user solidifies the air in an enemy's body, suffocating them. Exceptionally difficult to perfect, this jutsu holds almost more risks in combat than benefit - the caster, instead of attempting to damage an enemy's body, attempts to manipulate the air inside the enemy, while that air is being processed through the enemy's chakra points. The results range from disrupting an opponent's chakra control, to unconsciousness, to death. However, due to the extremely complex task of fighting an enemy within their own body, the shinobi performing this jutsu has to focus solely on that task, leaving them open to attack from all angles. Secondly, as the attacking shinobi is using their own chakra to direct an element in a zone of conflicting chakra, if the jutsu is done incorrectly it can have erratic results, such as invigorating an enemy's chakra system, or even rupturing chakra points. The control, focus and delicacy of this technique, as well as the risk it leaves it's user open to, makes it an extremely risky technique. At this point in time, Jun has used this technique only on clones, and never successfully. It will likely be several years before he can use this technique.

Name: Water Suffocation Technique.
Type: Offensive
Rank: A
Description: A variation on the Water Suffocation Technique. This technique is much quicker, and much easier to initiate, but the physical costs to the user are much more intense. Unlike the Wind Suffocation Technique, this technique simply solidifies the water which makes up seventy percent of the human body. This should be quite simple, but again, because it is done in the circulation of another, conflicting chakra system, the chakra required is extreme. Jun has never used this technique on a person nor a clone, but has practiced the basics of it by solidifying water contained in a 'chakra network' made from chakra infused inanimate objects. It will likely be several years before he can use this technique.

Bloodline: See OOC Note - assume he has a kekkei genkai, but that it is presently dormant.

Clan: See OOC Note.

Personal Information

Habits: Watching people, research, finding new ways to train himself.

Weaknesses: Weaker in close combat, is given to bouts of private rage, ambitious, is more willing to stay quiet than verbally retaliate, can be forcibly subdued by his clan.

Strengths: Has the potential to develop into a strong espionage-style shinobi, independent, strategic, intelligent, intuitive.

Fears: Having his curse seal activated, never finding his parents, failure.

I appreciate all the effort you put into this, and the way you made it and all, but you can't be a part of a clan without the clan first being accepted by the forum. You can either not join a clan, join a clan that's already on the forum, or create a clan registration topic in the clan registration board so that your clan can be accepted.

One more thing; you're a genin and you have A-rank techniques? Don't be irrational. Every other genin had their limit at C-rank; we shall give no special treatment to you. You could, however, keep those jutsu in your profile so that you can use them after you rank up to an appropriate rank.

Also, I haven't read through your profile correctly cuz I feel... drunk. o_o Forgive me if I said something contradictory to something else you already stated.

Thank you. <3

-grins-

With regards to the A level techniques, both of them already state that Jun can't use them yet - they are, exactly as you suggest, techniques which at the moment are just concepts, which the aim is for him to develop as the character develops and becomes a higher rank. At least that way, the character has some combat based goals, as well as just story elements.

In terms of the clan, as the OOC note states, the idea is to join a pre-existing clan. However, as I'm completely new here, I figured it would be better to discuss this with the leaders of these clans, before simply assuming they'd be alright with me creating a character with them. If this still bothers you, I'll fill in the blanks once I've talked with the players concerned, unless it's not considered necessary to consult the clan leaders beforehand.

Thanks.

Forgive me for saying so, but they're not limited to clans.

At the risk of spoilers, think Danzou. This would suggest they can be applied to any ninja under particular circumstances which warrent and permit it.

Mehh. Anyway, your cursed seal doesn't seem to enhance your personal skills, so it's fine.

I guess you're accepted then. <3
